An acne diet sounds like a wonderful idea. Who hasn’t heard that eating chocolate may make you break out. I believe we all have. So it doesn’t seem so crazy that by watching what you eat could prevent a break out.

Although creating a good acne diet can be very hard. Its very personal because it has to be based on an individuals responses to food. * You need to increase your protein - Some dermatologists believe that protein is correlated with cleared skin. They believe this because protein has an enzyme in it that limits oil production. Oily skin is very vulnerable to breakouts.

* Don’t eat carbs - You do not need to cut out carbs completely. But you should keep them limited to about 40 percent of your diet. This is because carbohydrates have compounds in them that can stimulate oil production. For this reason common knowledge indicates that junk food causes acne. In reality junk food just has a high carb content.

* 3. Drink green tea - If possible, drink the real stuff. The best type of green tea is the kind you brew at home. But, if you really don’t like it, the natural green tea drinks will work. Green tea will limit the creation of androgen. Breakouts have been known to be caused by a hormone called androgen.

* 4. Limit your salt intake - Salt usually contains iodine. This is the reason we usually call table salt “iodized salt.” For some with acne, iodine an cause major inflammation.

You must watch your diet and what you put on your face. You already know what is in your beauty products if you have acne. Look for oil-free moisturizers and natural or organic skin care lines. These are the least likely to irritate your skin. Mineral makeups are a good investment, if you wear makeup. Many dermatologists today believe that mineral makeup can really reduce breakouts and increase the results of your acne diet.
