Quickbooks online

Obviously not all of us can work remotely as many types of employment require employees to go to their employers premises or travel to perform their duties in person. But for those of us have the chance to work remotely then I thought it would be useful to share my experiences and give some practical wisdom by distributing it on the Internet with the sole objective of providing useful shortcuts for adapting to remote working or supervising remote workers.

I would caution you that there are a substantial number of people online who will try and persuade you to purchase online education for enormous sums of money, take my word for it you don’t have to do this.

I am privileged to be allowed to work wherever I choose and just about everyone who asks me what I do for a living wants to know how I manage to work remotely. Don’t get me wrong here I am still improving the science of remote working as all of the time I encounter folks online who tell me about new methods and I am continually uncovering new technologies and ways that make my life easier and increase my productivity.

Throughout the past 7 years I have slowly but surely adapted my working methods to let me to do the majority of my work remotely with a selection of internet tools and unfaltering self discipline. One lunchtime whilst surfing the Internet I came across Quickbooks online and this made me think about what just might be possible. My discovery of ’cloud’ based ‘on demand’ small business accounting software was a life changing event for me and the start of my ‘remote working career.

I have got to mention up front that efficiently working remotely is as much about the systems as it is about self management. Working remotely also means telling your team members, superiors and clients as to what they can expect and how they will communicate with you.

In ‘Remote Working Part 2 – Best practises’ I show you how to focus.
